Curriculum Vitae
Hello and welcome to 8th grade! My name is Mrs. Brummer, and I am very excited to teach 8th grade ELA again this year. I love teaching ELA because I love reading and discussing novels, vocabulary, grammar rules, and writing. My motto is…learn and use a new word every day!
I have been teaching at St. Edward Parish School, on and off, for about 20 years now! I started at St. Eds as a substitute teacher when I was completing my teaching credential at CSU Long Beach. Once I completed my coursework and student teaching, I began teaching 6th grade English and 6th Social Studies here. I took some time off to raise my girls and came back to subbing when my youngest was in Kindergarten. An opportunity came up to teach 8th grade ELA, and I couldn’t resist. I have been in room 235 ever since! I received my BA from CSU Long Beach and my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from CSU Long Beach as well.
I have been married to my husband, Kirk, for 25 years. I have two daughters, Ally and Emma, who attended Santa Margarita Catholic High School, and then both went off to the University of Arizona for college. Both of my girls are St. Edward graduates, and my nieces attend school here too. We cherished every moment of our time at STEDS and have so many amazing friends and memories. In my free time, I love spin classes, spending time in Maui, hiking with my dogs, and going to the beach with my family!
