Admissions Process & Application

NEW APPLICATIONS
2024-2025 Applications Are Now Open!

For the 2023-2024 school year, we are currently accepting new applications for grades Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Most other grade levels are full and have a waitlist, particularly preschool, TYKE, 5th and 8th grades. Should more space in our impacted grade levels become available, we will re-open those grade level applications.
General Information
All applications for admissions must be submitted through the online process along with the application fee and all required attachments. Applications for admissions will not be considered if any required documents are missing.

Required Attachments:
  • Application Fee (Preschool - 8th) - $75.00, completed online
  • Copy of Original Birth Certificate. Documentation from the hospital cannot be accepted.
  • Copy of Baptismal Certificate, if applicable
  • Copy of most updated immunizations record
  • Copy of all other Sacraments received, if applicable
  • For grades 1 - 8, please submit report cards for the past two years as well as standardized testing scores.

Preschool through Eighth Grade Admissions:
Applications for students in Grades Preschool - 8 are accepted throughout the school year when spots and necessary resources are available, however the primary admissions season for open slots for the upcoming school year is February - April.

All applicants, 1st - 8th grade, being considered for acceptance are required to take the STAR assessment in Reading and Math as well as meet with the grade level assistant principal. The purpose of the assessment is to evaluate the student's progress in relation to his/her peers to better gauge appropriate placement  and potential strengths and weaknesses. We have found it to be beneficial for both the student and the assistant principal, as well as parents, to meet prior to acceptance. The meeting is generally brief and it allows the AP and family the opportunity to address specific questions or concerns prior to making a commitment.

In grades that are full, we will maintain a wait list. The order of preference is as follows:
  1. The school has the necessary programs and resources to meet the student's potential
  2. Sibling currently enrolled or pre-enrolled (deposit accepted) in the school*
  3. Students baptized Catholic and a parishioner of St. Edward or San Felipe (tenure may be considered), or if recently moved to the area and already attending a Catholic school
  4. Students who are practicing Catholics at another parish.
  5. First-Come, First Serve
*If multiple families on the wait list meet criteria #2, we will defer to the other remaining criteria in order.

Math placement testing for those students in grades 6-8 interested in an accelerated math class is available upon request.

Letters of acceptance are mailed to the parents of those students who have been admitted to St. Edward the Confessor Parish School. Failure to receive an acceptance letter at this time does not preclude acceptance in the future.

Incoming TYKE & Kindergarten Students
A Readiness Screening is required for students enrolling in TYKE or Kindergarten.

  • Additional screening dates for the 2023-2024 school year will be held in the spring 2023
  • There is a $50 fee for the screening.
  • An application must be submitted to sign up for our screening..
SHADOWING:
We are currently only able to offer potential students the opportunity to shadow another student already enrolled in our school in the spring of 2023. The potential student must have a completed application on file to be considered for this opportunity.

We look forward to working with you throughout the admissions process and learning more about your family.
