2023-2024 Election Intent

Student Council elections for the 2023/2024 school year are around the corner! Students currently in Grades 4th-7th are invited to submit a letter of intent. Attached here is the complete list of required steps and important dates. Please be sure to review the election procedures for details on submitting an intent to run letter, putting up posters, and speech requirements. Our current 5th Grade representative will be visiting all the 4th grade homerooms to explain the 5th grade officer position. Please contact Mrs. Ashleigh Vachon [email protected] with questions.

 

The following grade levels are eligible to run for the positions listed below:

 

Positions and Eligibility

  • Current 4th Graders – 5th Grade Officer
  • Current 5th Graders – 6th Grade Officer, Faith Commissioner
  • Current 6th Graders – 7th Grade Officer, Vice President, Faith Commissioner, Events Commissioner
  • Current 7th Graders – 8th Grade Officer, President, Faith Commissioner, Events Commissioner

 

Letter of Intent

All potential candidates must submit a one-page letter, typed or hand written, which includes:

  • The candidate’s name and grade level.
  • The office for which the candidate is running.
  • Why the candidate is interested in student council.
  • Candidate’s personal qualifications (may include personality traits, leadership experience, etc).
  • How the candidate can best contribute to the school community by serving in this office. 
  • Signature from: the candidate, a parent, and homeroom teacher as a testimony to the qualifications outlined above.
  • Letter must be submitted on or before Friday May 5th in order to be eligible to run.
  • Letters may be turned into the Welcome Center or to Mrs. Vachon.
