Field Day - June 6, 2024

Hi Field Day Volunteers and Teachers,

We are doing a similar approach to last year, for those that participated. Our field day directions are immediately below. There are maps, schedules, game instructions and demonstration videos below the directions:

  • Each teacher will create four teams prior to June 8 and ask those students to wear the same color shirts on Field Day. Those four teams, wearing four different colors, will play each other at each station that their class is at.

  • A map and station schedule has been provided to each teacher. A teacher or aide needs to stay with their class to assist with keeping students on task and rotating properly

  • Tyke through third grades will report to their station at 8:25 and will depart about 10:00. Games will start at 8:30 and classes that are late will be placed in the empty station that is awaiting them, but please show up to your station by 8:25.

  • Fourth through seventh grades will report to the field around 10:15, games will start at 10:20 and students will be done around 11:50. Classes that are late will be placed in the empty station that is awaiting them, but please show up to your station by 10:15

  • Field Day stations for Tyke through third grade will be on the grass, the blacktop area nearest the field, the lunch area and the gym. Fourth through seventh grade will use the same areas, except they will not use the blacktop.

  • The stations will be clearly numbered either on the fence or on a traffic pylon. We are definitely trying to get each class to every station, but unfortunately canNOT guarantee it. A frozen treat will be eaten at Station 3, not at the end of Field Day as in previous years.

  • Mr. FitzGerald, Ms. Wright and Mr. Ignosci will be rotating through the stations to make sure the game directions are being followed by the volunteers and handling any problems that may arise

  • Please have students sit down and wait for instructions each time they arrive at a new station. Classes (boys and girls) will stay together for about six minutes at each station.

  • After a single whistle classes will rotate TOGETHER to the next station by ascending number, for example station one will go to station two, seven to eight, etc. For Tykes through third grade, classes at station 14 will move to station one. For fourth through seventh grades, classes at station 12 will move to station 1. Three whistles will mean Field Day is over and students should look to their teacher for instructions.

  • Please remind your students to thank the volunteers after each station

Thank you so much for assisting in making our Field Day a BLAST for all involved!!!
