Dear St. Edward the Confessor Parish School Parents:
“…they called the church together and reported what God had done with them and how he had opened the door of faith…” (Acts 14:27)
On October 11, we will begin our Year of Faith during which Pope Benedict has asked us to strengthen our faith by studying the documents from Vatican 11 and the “Catechism of the Catholic Church.” This year provides us the opportunity to once again renew ourselves and our children. It also provides the opportunity to recognize that the gift of faith given to us at Baptism needs to be nurtured if it is to grow and flourish. As the Year of Faith begins this fall, you will be hearing about the various ways in which your children will be studying the topics that relate to our school such as the new standards for Catholic school excellence, the use of technology in our school and other issues. It is a year where we will grow stronger in our beliefs and faith.
As you begin your own Year of Faith, we will pray for all of our families. Growing in our devotion to God allows us to be better parents and people. We will learn more about the saints who have gone before us, we will learn new ways to encounter Christ and we will be better prepared to share our faith with each other. Together, we will continue the excellence that is Catholic education, forming our students in our faith and in academics. We are off to a great start.
God’s Blessings,
Mrs. Rands
