Spanish 6B Tues/Wed Assignments

Family Tree Presentations begin and are due the week MAY 25th on DAY 2.  See attached instructions and Edmodo for details.  (the due date changed FROM week of june 1st day 1 TO week of May 25th day 2.

Reminder- Family Tree Presentations due at beginning of class this week. Students, please be sure that you have:

A) Visual Aid (poster or on ipad) B) Written or printed copy of 2 paragraphs of family members you are talking about in further detail. (this is separate from the visual aide itself)  C) the yellow Rubric page.

 

We will select the order of presentations as soon as students get to class.  Students will be given ~5 minutes to practice and organize materials.  Then we will promptly begin the presentations.  Parents are more than welcome to join!

 

Note for 6B students ONLY:  Presentations have been moved to Thursday at 2:05 in order to accommodate the "Career Day" special schedule on Wednesday morning.

Day 2- Students completed rough draft in Spanish of their self-created characters in class today. (all writing must be done in class at school).  Continue to study vocabulary of clothing and adjectives on a daily basis.

Day 1- Make a picture dictionary 3x2. Each square on front must have a different expression telling what someone likes to do in Spanish and a picture.

Day 1- text p. 44 activity 19 modified directions.  Make a "T" chart.  One side "Me gusta" the other side "No me gusta.  Write the phrases in 1-10 on the side of the chart that is true for you.

Day 1- reminder: Our OLVERA STREET FIELD TRIP IS THIS THURSDAY. Go straight to the SJC train station 10/30/14 and check in with your homeroom teacher. Do not go to school.  Wear Mass Uniform. Bring money for lunch/souvenirs, and water/snack.  Also, remember bring your best manners and positive attitude! We are going to have a fabulous time!

Day 1- Students received a permission slip from their homeroom teachers today for our 6th grade field trip to Olvera Street on Oct. 30th.  

Parents need to read and sign both sides, and the students need to read and sign the Behavior Contract side.  These need to be in by this Thursday Oct. 9th.   

More details about our trip will be posted on Edlio and sent home soon.

Spell first and last names of the following people using the Spanish pronunciation of the letters: a parent, a teacher (not Mrs. Cope), a celebrity, yourself, best friend

Example: teacher Sra. Cope= Ese-ere-a  Ce-o-pe-e

Day 2- Make flashcards text p.21 left column (all of the greetings, introducing yourself, & saying where you are from. English on front/Spanish on back.

Flachcards should have only 1 term per card.  They can be NO SMALLER than 1/2 of a 3X5.

DAY 1- A)  List as many cities or towns in CA that have a Spanish name. (must have at least 10, but may have more). Then write the meaning in English. You may consult a map, a family member and/or a Spanish/ English dictionary for help.

B) Answer the question:  Why is it useful to learn Spanish or any other foreign language?

Note: Remember to do the assignment on the same day it is assigned in your Spanish class and have it ready to turn in at the beginning of the period on the day of your next scheduled Spanish class.
