2023-2024 Summer/Back to School » Summer Solutions

Summer Solutions

Summer Solutions (1st – 6th grade) or Math Work Packets (7th – 8th grade) are math exercises we have implemented to keep our student’s skills sharp over the summer months.  These workbooks/packets are intended to review concepts learned this past year. Therefore, their materials cover what was learned during the grade they just completed.  For example, if your child is currently in 1st grade, he or she is receiving the Summer Solutions workbooks for 1st grade.

Summer Solutions provides an effective way for students to review and exercise computational skills while also reinforcing some of the foundational math concepts they have learned during the school year.   Each workbook includes 30 lessons of on-going practice, help pages and item answers. Before beginning the summer program, please be sure to refer to the Instructions for Parents/Guardians page, at the beginning of your child’s workbook. It is imperative that the workbooks are completed throughout the summer to assist with on-going practice. Completing the books all at once defeats the purpose of sustained practice over the summer break. By preventing summer learning loss, students return to school ready to learn new material right away.

Once your child returns to school for the 2023-2024 school year, a Summer Solutions review assessment may be administered the week of August 21st and the completed Summer Solutions workbooks will be collected by Friday, August 25th. The Summer Solutions assessments, along with the completed Summer Solutions workbooks will be given a point value and factored into the 1st trimester math grade.
