What is the Monarch Annual Fund?

Gifts to The Parish School at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church Monarch Annual Fund help to bridge the gap between the revenue generated from tuition and the actual cost of educating a student in a safe, nurturing and technologically advanced setting.   Foundations often ask for annual fund participation numbers as a measure of an institution’s health. Support from our closest friends sends a signal that St. Edward the Confessor Parish School is a good investment.  Your yearly support is a sign of your commitment to all that is The Parish School at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church.

How does the Monarch Annual Fund enhance the school?

Each year, members of the Administration and Consultative School Board meet to determine the areas of need.  The Monarch Annual Fund was first introduced to our community in January 2015.  The first year of the Monarch Annual Fund the school benefited from $40,676 in support which exceed our goal of $25,000. The second year, from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016, we raised our goal to $50,000 and we actually raised $84,281.79.  The proceeds supported our procurement of the following:

  • Professional development for our faculty and staff in the areas of differentiated instruction, learning support, reading interventions, advancement, educational technology, makerspace programs, and credential clearance.
  • A new reading program called “Reader’s Workshop” for 2nd and 4th grades including teacher professional development and resources. This program was already being piloted in 3rd and 5th grades the prior year thanks to the Annual Fund.
  • Math enrichment programs including IXL, additional components of our new mathematics program called “Math in Focus” (Singapore Math) for Grades K – 2nd, and 4th including teacher professional development, manipulative instructional bar models, supplemental resources, and on-going teacher support.
  • STREAM Program resources including gardening tools, coding resources, two VEX Robots, and a VEX robot field.
  • Literacy Program enhancements including Lift Off To Literacy, Battle of the Books, Author Visits, Reading Enrichment Programs, Upper School Reads, and Library tools.

Our goal for the 2016-2017 Monarch Annual Fund which runs from July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017 is $75,000 in fulfilled pledges.  With this support we will continue augmenting development in three areas:

1)       Professional Training and Development for the entire Faculty and Staff;

2)       Mathematics Instructional Resources and Manipulative Tools; and

3)       Literacy Resources.
