Preschool through 8th grade Admissions Process:
Applications for preschool through 8th grade are accepted throughout the school year provided there are openings and any necessary student support resources are available.

1st through 8th grade applicants are required to take the STAR assessment in reading and math as part of the admissions process.  The purpose of the STAR assessment is to establish a baseline in reading and math and help identify potential areas of strength and/or areas that may need support.  1st through 8th grade applicants are also required to interview with the grade level assistant principal.  We have found it beneficial for prospective students and the assistant principal to meet prior to acceptance.  The meeting is generally brief and serves as an opportunity for applicants and families to address specific questions or concerns prior to making a commitment.

Applicants will be placed on a waiting list for grade levels that are full.  Priority for acceptance is given as follows:
  1. The school has the necessary programs and resources available to meet the student's needs
  2. The applicant has a sibling currently enrolled or pre-enrolled (deposit paid) in the school*
  3. Applicants who are baptized Catholic and parishioners of St. Edward the Confessor or San Felipe de Jesus (tenure and active participation may be considered), or are relocating to the area and already attending a Catholic school
  4. Applicants who are practicing Catholics at another parish
  5. First-come, first serve
*If multiple applicants on the wait list meet criteria #2, we will defer to the other remaining criteria in order.

A math placement test will be administered to those students in grades 6th-8th that are interested in enrolling in an accelerated math class.

Incoming TYKE & Kindergarten Students
