Highlights:

  • Execute Reading Workshop as a method of teaching reading that uses a workshop approach.  Model a literature-based instructional approach in which learners read self-selected, high-interest books, and respond to books from different genres on a variety of topics.
  • Facilitate Writing Workshop, an interdisciplinary writing technique which can build learners' fluency in writing through continuous, repeated exposure to the process of writing.
  • Responsibilities include prevention, intervention, transition and follow-up services for students with learning differences.  Provide direct services for all children, especially those who are experiencing problems that create barriers to learning.
  • Contributed to services provided by a means of education in reading readiness, writing, language development, and children’s literature. Some of these services include: teaching small groups of children who require extra help; testing and evaluating whole classes or individuals referred by teachers; using literature to motivate reading and writing.
  • Responsible for teaching students using the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher, maintaining an effective learning environment by practicing classroom management through enforcing rules and appropriately handling situations that arise.
