  • 00:21 Football Throwing Accuracy (Blended Learning)

On October 1, 2019, I led two classes through a blended learning lesson in throwing a football with accuracy. We started off by watching a Peyton Manning (NFL Hall of Fame Quarterback) on how to throw a football with accuracy. Following the movie I split the class into two groups. Both stations prioritized throwing the ball at a particular location, rather than for distance. One half of the class threw a football at a net and the other group threw footballs at buckets at a distance. After about 10 minutes the groups rotated to the other station to practice the their accuracy a different way.

  • 00:31 Lacrosse Scoop Game...

Who says first graders can't play lacrosse? On November 11, we spent about 20 minutes learning to scoop tennis balls off the ground with lacrosse sticks. After our prep time I split the class into two teams and we played several games running, scooping and seeing which team ended up with the most tennis balls on their side. The kids did great, especially considering they have never had a lacrosse stick in their hand. We had a BLAST!!!
