Science Current Events
This year, our fifth grade and sixth grade students have the great privilege of exploring science concepts in a laboratory environment. To further this exploration, students will also investigate real-world examples of science and share their findings in weekly science current events activities. Every week, two students from each class will present a scientific article of their choosing. When completing the assignment, students should include the following:
1) Article printed or cut out of newspaper/magazine
2) Typed summary of article (1/2 page, double spaced)
3) Three or more vocabulary words with definitions (typed)
Students will also answer any questions from the class based on the sharing of the article. The articles may be taken from any reliable source. The links located below will help students locate and choose scientific articles.
