Dr. Seuss Day/Read Across America

Green and Eggs and Ham Celebration

Friday, March 3rd

The Owls will be celebrating Dr. Seuss Day/Read Across America on Friday. We will be reading Dr. Seuss books, doing activities, and enjoying a special green eggs and ham breakfast in our classroom.

The learners are invited to wear pajamas or Dr. Seuss themed free dress that day. For example, Dr. Seuss character clothing, bright colors, polka dots, stripes or pajamas.

Looking forward to an enjoyable day!

Valentine’s Day is coming soon! We will be celebrating in class on Monday, February 13th. Learners are invited to bring valentines for their classmates. However, participation is optional. If you would like to participate, please bring in valentines for 15 Owls. Encouraging your learner to write their own name on each valentine is great writing practice.

Also, it is best to only write who the valentine is “from”, rather than “to.” This will make it easier when the Owls are delivering their valentines. We have already decorated valentine bags in class and will use them to collect our valentines during the class party.

        * Learners may wear free dress on Monday, February 13th

        * Sign Up Genuis coming soon in case you would like to donate items for our classroom party.  Thank you!

Reminders for Week of December 12th – 16th

Monday, December 12th Learners are invited to wear red and green with Christmas accessories.

Wednesday, December 14th Christmas Pageant, at 10:30am in the Church. The Owls are so excited to sing for you! They will be shepherds for our Nativity. Please have your son or daughter come to school dressed in comfortable clothing. We prefer colors like brown, navy blue, tan, gray, black etc. in case it shows under their costume. They do not need to wear their uniform, but may wear it if they prefer. We have the shepherd costumes at school that they will be putting on over their clothing. If your learner has sandals, they are welcome to wear them on Wednesday.

Friday, December 16th Christmas Free Dress. Nutcracker Presentation with learner participation in the Makerspace at 9:00am. Parents are welcome to join us. We will be having a party in the classroom following the Nutcracker, to celebrate Jesus’ Birthday. Minimum day, 11:50 dismissal, Eday is not available on Friday.

Looking forward to a wonderful week!

Preschool FAM Adopt-A-Family Service Project

This year The Parish School and FAM (Family Assistance Ministries) are working together to support our Adopt-A-Family service project. As a combined effort, all of the preschool families have been given the opportunity to make the Christmas wishes of a Dana Point family come true!

Please consider providing a new gift to sponsor a family member. (As always, participation is voluntary.)

The last day to send in donations is Tuesday, December 13th. Thank you!
