Graduation Requirements

In order to receive a diploma, a student must: have earned a cumulative middle school total GPA of 1.70 or better, have no “Incomplete” grades on the transcript, be in good standing with attendance and discipline and have no outstanding financial obligations. Additionally, students must have completed their Christian Service requirements.

Credits Earned
Students are required to complete 288 units over the course of three years. Credits are earned by receiving a passing grade. Courses in which students earned a non passing grade (Either an F or NC) require remediation through an approved program in order to make up the failed credits before a diploma is earned. Administration is the sole authority for determining and approving equivalency for replacement courses.

Substitute Credits
Students with an Individualized Learning Plan may substitute up to 35 credits total for Spanish or a Non Academic subject with an alternate program within the Student Support Services Program. All core subjects must be passed.

Community Service Hours
All middle school students are required to participate in at least 45 hours of Christian Community Service over the three years prior to their graduation from eighth grade. While 45 hours is the minimum number of hours required for graduation, you may earn extra hours over and above the graduation requirement. There are two categories of acts of service in which you will be participating: Corporal Acts of Mercy and Spiritual Acts of Mercy. Corporal Acts of Mercy consist of helping the hungry, homeless, poor, or needy, helping the sick or elderly as well as the emotionally or physically disabled. Spiritual Acts of Mercy include helping our youth, participating in religious and cultural activities as well as care for animals and the environment.
